Lucky Penny 03:12
Bowed my head to say a prayer, saw a penny sitting there Bent right over to pick it up, all day long I had good luck I don't need to burn some sage No self help book or rabbits foot No zodiac could predict today The stars aligned and I'm doing okay Hey hey! Hey hey! Whoa whoa Held two dice in the palm of my hand, took a breath let my chest expand Let it out and let the dice fall, two snake eyes stare up from the floor I don't need to burn some sage No self help book or rabbits foot No zodiac could predict today The stars aligned and I'm doing okay Hey hey! Hey hey! Whoa whoa I'm not gonna wait for the chips to fall, I'm not gonna wait no more I'm not gonna wait for the chips to fall, I'm not gonna wait no more I don't need to burn some sage No self help book or rabbits foot No zodiac could predict today The stars aligned and I'm doing okay Hey hey! Hey hey! Whoa whoa I'm not gonna wait for the chips to fall, I'm not gonna wait no more

Two Weeks 03:37
Baby, I don't care what you do or say Baby, I don't care what you do with your day In two weeks time I will be free from my hole When that day comes babe, we'll feel it in our souls Whoa whoa whoa whoa You know it to be true Whoa whoa whoa whoa Things will be brand new And I'll come home I pace my room a couple hours a day I stare outside through the windowpane In two weeks time I will be free from my hole When that day comes babe, we'll feel it in our souls Whoa whoa whoa whoa You know it to be true Whoa whoa whoa whoa Things will be brand new And I'll come home I don't care at all what you do or say Until my time runs out, this is the only way When I see you I will hold you in my arms Spin you round and round and dance among the stars Whoa whoa whoa whoa You know it to be true Whoa whoa whoa whoa Things will be brand new And I'll come home I'll come home In two weeks time I will be free from my hole When that day comes babe, we'll feel it in our souls Whoa whoa whoa whoa You know it to be true Whoa whoa whoa whoa Things will be brand new And I'll come home I'll come home

Spring has come but nothing's changed The snow has melted but there's nothing new Have I grown? I feel the same A year gone by and I'm still the same Hey Hey hey! (Hey hey!) Don't know where I am Don't know what's going on (Hey hey!) Lost my life about a year ago to the day All I do is lie to myself I keep telling me it'll be okay Normal left without a kiss I've loved and lost but never like this Hey hey! (Hey hey!) Don't know where I am Don't know what's going on (Hey hey!) Lost my life about a year ago to the day Hey hey! (Hey hey!) Don't know where I am Don't know what's going on (Hey hey!) Lost my life about a year ago to the day To the very day

Whatchya doing here? This is drinking time You're gonna kill the vibe Distract everyone No one wants to hear you talk, no one wants to hear you cry Whatchya doing up here in my house killing all my vibes Get out now Ooo whoa whoa Please be self aware No one wants you here No no no No no Take a look around This is all your fault Why don't you go home? Kick yourself back out Baby baby please, I don't want you to stay around Why don't you go home? Leave it all uptown Yow! Alright Ooo whoa whoa Please be self aware No one wants you here No no no No no Yeah, so I was finishing up this song And I was videotaping my computer screen So I can send the video to Sarah And show here what I've been working on And I've got my iMessage linked to my computer And I get the notification at the top of my screen That she texted me ENTITLED MISERABLE WHINY WHITE MEN In all caps She was mad about something And it came up on the video and made me laugh So I said hey that's it That's the name of the song

about

In late February of 2021, Lee Cleaveland began quarantining after being exposed to COVID-19. After testing, Lee received a positive test and did not leave his bedroom for two and half weeks other than to use the bathroom once a day. After finishing The Sopranos, Lee began binging 7 straight seasons of Looney Tunes and experienced a series of fever dreams underscored by the soundtrack of the show. After waking up in the middle of the night to 1930's cartoon violence glowing on his computer screen for the fourth night in a row, Lee decided the need for a change in routine was necessary for the preservation of his own sanity.

In that moment, the "Cooties" EP was conceived. The rest of his time spent in solitude were spent channeling his remaining energy in to writing, recording, and performing all of the songs on this record.

Straying from the normal realm of The Lefthand Band, Lee Cleaveland's "Cooties" is a hard hitting, power pop record inspired by early 2000's movie soundtracks, 80's goth, lo-fi beats to chill to, and the punk rock of his childhood.
